Finally I landed on a video of a very good summary of many questions, you should be asking yourself about the earth's shape. It's 6 minutes to view. Then the remainder of the video is his advertisement. (Note: I am unsure why the speaking was sped up, so you may want to view this a few times.) See if you can catch onto a couple things in particular that he points out. Pay close attention around the 2:20 minute mark and 3:20 minute mark. (Times are approximate).
